Les Maîtres de Forges

The general assembly took place in Le Creusot on April 12, as part of a weekend in the Maîtres de Forges valley. 45 Avantime (for 107 people) were there.

This weekend saw the association evolve strongly with a modified Board of Directors and above all a 100% new board.
The general assembly allowed to discover the enthusiasm of the members, with an increasing participation since the creation of the Amicale in April 2005. The opportunity to impress the public of Le Creusot as the 45 ships pass through the city.

We started on Saturday with the very friendly welcome of the Renault dealership which, in addition to seeing its front invaded by the coupéspaces, welcomed us for a moment of reunion and touching gifts. Renault objects, but also a CD-Rom offered by Vincent on a retrospective in photos of the 2007 releases, and a personalized key ring offered to everyone by Raphaël, really very nice. Then it was the first convoy to the Château de la Verrerie, where the photo sessions followed one another, the visit of the museum of metallurgical industries and the old crystal factory.

After the general meeting in the hotel, a delicious meal awaited us. Long discussions in the evening, short night, then it is the departure towards the tourist train of the Two Valleys, which takes us on the tracks of the workers who took on the hill the slag resulting from the foundries of Le Creusot. The stopover was at the restoration workshop of the 241P17 steam locomotive, where we met enthusiasts like ourselves.
Then it's time to join the restaurant in, where the Avantime ballet in the car park is literally impressive. Typical local meal and it's already the start. A weekend full of emotions that makes you want to do it again!
