De la Manufacture au futur

The 10th general assembly of the association was held in Saint-Etienne. 113 participants gathered for this 27th event organized with the help of local members.

Saturday, April 26th

The day begins with a picnic at the Parc de l'Europe in Saint-Etienne under a threatening sky. In the afternoon, we divide into three groups: About thirty people go to the mine museum to discover the very rich history of the mining basin. A second group goes by tramway to the Museum of Art and Industry to learn everything about the manufacture of weapons, cycles and ribbons that have made Saint-Etienne famous in France and around the world. Finally, the third group will discover from the outside the city of Design as well as two temporary exhibitions. The general meeting is held at the end of the day at the hotel.

Sunday, April 27th

On Sunday's programme and in two groups as there are many of us, a cruise in the Loire Gorge on the "Grangent", an electrically powered boat with passionate guides who have explained to us the history of the heritage built by man (castles, dam) as well as the local fauna and flora. The rest of the stay takes place in two restaurants, the Hostellerie du Belvédère in Saint-Paul-en-Cornillon and Les Gueules Noires in Roche-la-Molière, where we both enjoy a typically regional and gastronomic menu.
